Malioboro Street is both the main shopping place and the main street that runs through the heart of Yogya City from the Tugu Railway Station at one to the Kraton at the other. Malioboro is also the area containing many losmens and small hotels and it is full of shops, restaurants, and services offering great bargains for the visitors. At night, the stalls along the street selling souvenirs and small items, roll up and the evening "lesehan" begin. This is a Yogya tradition where people sit out at night by gas-light on straw mats to chat, drink tea, eat snacks, and enjoy the cool evening air. Besides that, people can see any attraction like art carnival and passing out parade of Indonesian Air Force Academy.
